Peterborough Cathedral Garden

The theme of this event being organised by the Cromwells Brigade members of the Sealed Knot is based around the Siege that took place in 1648 just four miles away at Helpston, Where the former Chaplin to Charles 1 was chased out of Stamford while trying to recruit to the Royalist Army. The pursuing Parliament Officer  a Captain William Smart was shot and died while attempting to storm the Castle which was held at the time by a small company of Royalist Musketeers.

Sealed Knot members will envisage to give you an insight into the life and times of that period.
