Cropredy Bridge 375

29-30 June

Cropredy Bridge, nr Banbury.

A weekend of commemoration and re-enactment of the Battle of Cropredy Bridge in 1644.

Experience the whole village bringing this to life, with events and displays, walks and talks, living history camps and of course the Battle itself.

Cropredy Bridge was a 'come-back' win for the Royalists, following a string of reversals. The King’s manoeuvring successfully relieved pressure on his capital at Oxford by leading the Parliamentary forces on a merry dance around the Cotswolds, before delivering a blow that left these pursuing forces defeated and demoralised.
