SUMMARY:Pembroke Castle
DESCRIPTION:Join The Sealed Knot at Pembroke Castle for a Civil War re-enactment on the very ground that one of the most important battles of the war took place. \n \nThe close of the first stage of the Civil War had seen a Parliamentary victory and the arrest of King Charles I\, but shortly afterwards\, Pembroke’s Parliamentary troops\, instead declared for the King.  Oliver Cromwell arrived in Pembroke in 1648 with six thousand men to deal with the situation\, resulting in the Siege of Pembroke\, and sparking a new rebellion which would soon spread throughout Britain\, the Second Civil War. \nThe Sealed knot is the UK’s oldest re-enactment society and will offer demonstrations of life during the English Civil War\, an army camp\, weaponry and displays of arms. \nA full schedule will be displayed in the castle on the day. \nTicket prices: \nAdult (aged 16+) – £11.00 \nSeniors (aged 65+) – £10.00 \nChild (aged 3-15yrs) – £8.00 \nChild (Under 3) – Free \nRegistered Disabled – £8.00 \nCarer – Free \nOpening times: 9.30am-5.30pm
