Basing House – Jubilee Weekend

The Sealed Knot will as part of the 2022 Platinum Jubilee celebrations hold an English Civil war re-enactment event on Basing Common, the site of the Siege of Basing House between the years of 1642 to 1645. The house a supporter of King Charles was subject to a number of sieges by Parliament forces, eventually being overrun by Oliver Cromwell resulting in significant damage to the house. The remaining house and grounds are today cared for by Hampshire Cultural Trust(HCT), who will be joining the SK in delivering this event.

The venue will be Basing Common on Friday 3^rd  and Saturday the 4^th June 2022. These events will be free to pedestrians, with a request for donations for parking on the common via temporary gates.
