Colonel John Pickerings Regiment of foote, (and friends from other Regiments of the Sealed Knot) working with our sponsor The Cromwell Museum, once again brings you an immersive performance with an interpretation of real events.
Our very first attempt at ‘Theatre’ 6 years ago recreated the Trail of Charles 1st – which we have performed 3 times – but this time we turn things on its head, and characters from history who you would have originally seen as the King’s Judges are now the ones on Trial for their lives.
Following the death of Oliver Cromwell and the restoration of the Monarchy under Charles 2nd the new King has issued ‘The Act of Oblivion’ stating all is forgiven for the horror of the Civil wars unless you were part of the Trial and execution of his late father.
We’re reconstructing these events from original trial records, allowing you to experience them in an immersive way – other than a narrator, YOU will be part of the audience to events in 1660 in the atmospheric surroundings of an historic courtroom.
Performances take place at 1pm, 3.30pm and 6.30pm on Saturday 7 February; 10am, 12.30pm and 3pm on Sunday 8 February 2026.
Booking essential. Not suitable for children under 10. Performances last 90 minutes.
