The Battle of Nantwich

Saturday 25 January

Nantwich, Cheshire

For over 40 years the faithful troops of The Sealed Knot have gathered in the historic town of Nantwich, Cheshire, to re-enact the bloody battle that took place almost 400 years ago and marked the end of the long and painful siege of the town.

This year’s parade and battle takes place on Saturday 25 January 2018.

Nantwich has been a staple of the reenactment calendar for more than four decades and thousands turn out every year to watch us mark this pivotal moment in the town’s history – from the impressive sight of hundreds of troops marching through the town to the sounds of battle, come rain or shine this is an event that should always be part of your calendar!

With events in the town from 10am onwards, this is a whole day’s entertainment for the whole family, culminating with the march of the troops of the Sealed Knot through the town (around 1.00pm) to the main square, before heading down to Mill Island ready for 2.00pm for their reenactment of the decisive breaking of the siege in 1643!
